Formula Scoring, Number-Right Scoring, and Test Taking Strategy
Rowley, Glenn L.; Traub, Ross E.
Journal of Educational Measurement, 14, 1, 15-22, Spr 77

The choice between the two is shown to be dependent upon having reduced error variance or unbiasedness as a goal. (Author/JKS)
