Like all newly emerging disciplines or areas of inquiry and learning, Ethnic Studies have consistently been challenged to acquire that academic responsibility which ensures survival and growth in higher education. Since the survival of Ethnic Studies is more real than speculative, this paper will investigate the problems confronting Ethnic Studies advocates; furthermore, it will suggest a possible solution to those problems.
