On the Ethnographic Process in Anthropology and Education
Burns, Allan F.
Anthropology and Education Quarterly, 7, 3, 25-33, Aug 76
Demonstrates that the whole of an anthropological study (from deciding who, what, and where to study to publicizing results) can be termed an "ethnographic process". Within this process, four major components can be identified: research conditions, research design, research implementation, and product creation. Discusses each part of this process, and explores some of the dangers inherent in ignoring this process. (Author/JM)
