Interpersonal Skills Development in Health Professions Education
Boles, B. Kaye
Journal of Allied Health, 5, 4, 23-30, F 76
Noting that students in health professions education, irrespective of the specific discipline, often experience difficulty with interpersonal encounters in the clinical setting, the author contends that in addition to academic requirements, curricula should include experiential opportunities for students to develop their competencies in affective behavioral skills. A discussion of interpersonal skills covers the historical background and present efforts toward the development of such skills. (SH)
