Allophonic Variations of Stop Consonants in a Speech Synthesis-By-Rule Program
Ainsworth, W. A.; Millar, J. B.
International Journal of Man-Machine Studies, 8, 2, 159-168, Mar 76

Listening tests have shown that this expedient can increase the intelligibility of stop consonants in isolated CV syllables from 68 percent to 92 percent. (Author)
