Investigates the effects of the first season of Sesame Street (1970) on readiness in kindergarten children. Evidence indicates that the scores of children from an advantaged community were significantly higher on the alphabet subtest after exposure to Sesame Street, but that scores of children from the Head Start Program did not differ significantly from pre-Sesame Street Head Start groups.
