The purpose of this nonprofit organization is to increase the awareness, understanding, and use of evidence-aligned reading instruction. The Reading League's branches are wide-reaching and fruitful because educators are committed to the lifelong learning necessary to ensure that their students achieve their potential and reap all the benefits of a literate life. The branches have served to create a vast network of members and allies who understand that when two-thirds of a nation's students are not reading proficiently, providing the best instruction for "all" of them is a matter of social justice.
