Perceptions of Good Instruction as Viewed by Students and Faculty
English, Paul; LaCroix, Sean
Community College Enterprise, v26 n1 p77-95 Spr 2020
Studies that compare perceptions of effective teaching abound. This analysis adds to that extensive body of research by differentiating between the face-to-face and online student perspective. In doing so, substantial differences in how these two student cohorts view effective teaching emerge. This study also compares student opinions about effective teaching with what faculty expected students to prioritize. There, it is learned that faculty may not have a full grasp of what students prioritize.
