Transitioning to a Competency-Driven Curriculum
Hornsby, Lori; Wright, Bradley M.
New Directions for Teaching and Learning, n162 p187-197 Sum 2020
The role of the pharmacist is evolving with pharmacists' taking more direct responsibility for patient outcomes. As a result, pharmacy education must be designed to ensure graduates are competent and prepared to function within a complex healthcare system. Transitioning to a competency-driven curriculum, can ultimately place the focus of the learner and faculty on outcomes specific to the skills and abilities needed for graduates to provide desired levels of care.
