Effects of Experimenter Modeling, Demands for Honesty, and Initial Level of Suggestibility on Response to "Hypnotic" Suggestions
Comins, Jeffrey R.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 43, 5, 668-675, Oct 75
Subjects were pretested on objective and subjective responses to test suggestions of the Barber Suggestibility Scale. After being exposed to one of three treatments--experimenter modeling, hypnotic induction, or control--each subject was retested. Experimenter modeling was as effective as hypnotic induction in enhancing responsiveness to test suggestions. (Author)
