The stated purpose of this paper is to analyze comparatively perceptions of leadership in three black neighborhoods in a northwest Indiana city: studies such as this one are stated to be needed because black people have been physically and socially segregated in America, and frequently sufficiently isolated to be cut off from any meaningful contact with other neighborhoods, whether black or white.
