Embracing Leadership as a Strategic Priority
Hobbs, Tracy; Skalski, Anastasia Kalamaros
Communique, v48 n4 p4, 6 Dec 2019
There is no question that the heart and soul of a professional association resides in the demonstration and nurturance of leadership. The work of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) is guided by five strategic goals, which provide the foundation for NASP's strategic plan, adopted by the Leadership Assembly in September 2017. This article focuses on one particular goal, Leadership Development, which states, "School psychologists possess the leadership skills to effect change at the local, state, and national levels." This article reviews how the strategic goal has evolved and how NASP committees are working to strengthen school psychologists' leadership skills in practice.
