Teaching Excel to Undergraduate Students: Do the Platform Constraints of Windows versus Mac Make a Difference?
Ali, Shahid I.; Fitzpatrick, Brian D.
Journal of Education for Business, v94 n7 p457-459 2019
The authors' objective was to uncover the difference in competency when teaching Excel to undergraduate students on two distinct and discrete operating platforms. The authors calibrated competency by comparing scores of MOS-EXCEL Certification Test results. The authors conclude that the null hypothesis indicating no difference in mean scores of the Mac versus the Windows users cannot be rejected at the 5% significance level. Cohen's d statistics led to the same results.
