Students of Color Experience predominantly White institutions (PWIs) differently than do White students in terms of belonging, support, connecting, and success. While this topic has been explored broadly, there remain gaps in the literature about experiences of Students of Color in the context of residential communities, which provide the setting for much of students' out-of-class learning and development. Additionally, much of the existing literature examines the issue as a deficit rather than through the lens of student self-efficacy. This study was designed to answer the following research question: How do Students of Color develop networks of support in residence hall settings at PWIs? Using focus groups, Students of Color engaged in dialogue highlighting their knowledge and experiences related to PWIs. Examining the data through a social capital framework, we found that the people in residential communities emerged as crucial to Students' of Color sense of belonging. The role of the Community Advisor (CA), roommates, friends, and custodians were of particular importance.
