Notecards: An Effective Study Tool
Conderman, Greg
Clearing House: A Journal of Educational Strategies, Issues and Ideas, v92 n3 p85-92 2019
As students advance to and through middle school, teachers expect them to meet higher academic expectations. Students' ability to meet these expectations depends, in part, on their use of effective study skills. Using notecards represents one study skill that students can use flexibly in many subjects to prepare for upcoming assessments. With some creativity and practice with teachers, students can develop vocabulary, question-answer, and short answer response notecards that promote higher level thinking skills. Examples of notecards and teaching ideas are included.
