Geographical Education in Britain: Crisis and Opportunity
Graves, N. J.
Geographical Education, 2, 2, 147-58, Jun 74
This paper describes the background of British geographical education. The nature of the crisis through which geography in schools is currently passing is ascribed to changes in academic geography, to developments in education theory, and to secondary school reorganization. It is argued that the crisis offers opportunities for the further development of geographical education, and three Schools Council projects contributing to such development are briefly considered.
