Democratize Diplomacy! Family-to-Family Collaboration for a Better World
Lachelier, Paul
Childhood Education, v94 n6 p40-51 2018
The internet, smartphones, laptops, and social media offer exciting potential to democratize diplomacy, if coupled with well-designed citizen diplomacy programs. One new nonprofit initiative is engaging lower-income American families in live internet dialogues and project collaborations with lower-income families in other nations to nurture more caring and capable global citizens. This article discusses the initiative's approach and first international community project involving families in the United States, Senegal, and Jordan.
