Librarians from two research institutions developed a qualitative and quantitative survey to bring faculty voices into the discussion of incorporating the "Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education" into instruction. The survey aimed to (1) gauge the level of faculty support for information literacy; (2) solicit rankings of importance for the concepts in the Framework; and (3) elicit responses concerning its language. Results from 237 participants showed support for information literacy and for the Framework, with reservations about its language. Librarians can use these findings to explore a "common" language for promoting the Framework and to identify areas for instructional collaborations.
