Juvenile Education in Abu Dhabi: Insights from and Implications of School Policies for Educational Equity and Inclusion

Policies, besides school leaders and managers, shape the operations of educational institutions, identify systemic connectivity and integrity, and clarify processes for equitable and inclusive practices. The Abu Dhabi Educational Care Center provides scholastic services for juveniles in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This exploratory case study investigates relevant Abu Dhabi school policies to determine missing links in policies in order to attain educational equity on the praxis level for juvenile offenders in Abu Dhabi. Findings on relevant policies reveal inadequacies for juveniles' academic continuity and community inclusion. Recommendations address the need for policies that endorse institutional and community partnerships and collaboration to enhance equity and inclusion of juvenile offenders.
