Datig, Ilka
Journal of Electronic Resources Librarianship, v30 n2 p63-69 2018
Librarians are becoming increasingly interested in applying user experience design to better understand the needs and desires of patrons. One user experience tool that is currently underused by libraries is content strategy. The key idea behind content strategy is planning and strategizing the content of all library communication platforms. Once properly understood, content strategy is a valuable tool for librarians seeking to update and invigorate their websites and social media. This article lays out some of the fundamental tools used by content strategists and discusses how librarians can apply them to their own content.
