Although community colleges claim to reduce class distinctions, they actually preserve the status quo by socializing and acculturating members of the lower classes to the middle class way of life. They serve the interests of society's controlling classes and help to make students docile and complacent; they have done nothing to prepare students to work for distributive justice. (DC)
