A Research Study of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers' Attitudes toward the Instructional Value of Film
Russell, William B., III; Waters, Stewart
Educational Practice and Theory, v35 n1 p79-91 2013
This study examines the attitudes of pre-service elementary teachers' attitudes toward the instructional value of film. Using survey research methodologies, a total of ninety-five pre-service teachers enrolled in elementary education programs at two different major United States research universities in the southeastern states completed a Likert-style survey made up of 15 statements. The results indicate that pre-service elementary education programs need to increase formal coursework pertaining to the instructional uses of film. A full discussion of results and study limitations is included and conclusions are made.
