Using Twitter to Engage Digital Natives
Ash, Barbara Lee
Journal of Applied Research for Business Instruction, v13 n2 2015
Engaging "digital natives" presents challenges and opportunities for both the classroom teacher and for trainers in the workplace, many of whom are "digital immigrants." The learning styles, interests, values, and the Millennial learner's unique alignment with technology present opportunities to engage this generation in new and exciting ways. One of the biggest generational gaps is in the area of social networking. Personal and consumer relationships have been re-invented by the Millennial generation, and social networking is here to stay. Twitter is experiencing exponential growth and providing new ways to conduct learning both inside and outside the classroom.
