Bringing Life Processes to Life
Souders, Hannah
Science Teacher, v85 n4 p27-33 Apr 2018
Protein synthesis, involving such abstract concepts as "DNA," "RNA," "transcription," and "translation," is one of many biological processes too small to be seen by the naked eye. This combination of scientific jargon and sub-microscopic elements can make biology seem overwhelming to any student--but especially to English language learners (ELLs). This article describes a way to break through these barriers to understanding.
