This study compared ratings by parents and teachers of 120 high-functioning children with autism spectrum disorder on the Social Responsiveness Scale-2. Parent ratings were significantly higher than those of teachers; correlations between the informants were low to moderate. Parent--teacher pairs placed 87% of cases above the clinically significant threshold. Implications for screening, diagnosis, and outcome assessment are provided.
