The Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) has been an influential catalyst in driving momentum around global citizenship education and establishing it as a priority of the global education agenda. Formed in 2000 as a Category II institute under the auspices of UNESCO, APCEIU promotes education for international understanding and global citizenship education by working in close collaboration with UNESCO Offices, National Commissions of Member States, related educational institutes, and civil society, both in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.
