The Outcomes of Resource Use in Migrant Families

A sample of 41 migrant mothers and their sons is used to develop an analysis of family environment and parental competence, using the concept of resources as a conceptual framework that includes and extends beyond socioeconomic indicators of family contexts. Also discussed are the relation of this resources scale to other family attributes, the final educational achievement of sons and their adult personality characteristics. (EH)
