Becoming an Effective Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leader
West, Harry; Jenkins, Rhiannon; Hill, Jennifer
Journal of Geography in Higher Education, v41 n3 p459-465 2017
This Directions paper, written by two former Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leaders, (West and Jenkins) and a PAL Tutor (Hill), will support any geographer considering a PAL role. It reflects their experiences of participating in a PAL scheme at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, United Kingdom, and research conducted with Geography PAL Leaders over two academic years (2012-2014). Overall, they found being a PAL Leader was positive, good fun, sociable and had positive benefits in terms of professional development.
