Faculty Professional Development Focused on Identifying Funding Opportunities: An Interactive Tool

In an effort to help faculty members learn about and obtain external funding for their research, a team of scholar-practitioners within a College of Education at a large southeastern university developed a database tool that enables faculty to identify grant opportunities aligned with their research interests and provides faculty with easy access to other grant-related support. This article describes the development of the database as well as its influences on faculty grant-seeking activities. Findings indicate that most faculty consider the database to be useful and, in the two years since its development, grant activity in the College has greatly increased.
