Educational Developers' Use of Learning Theories: Conceptions and Practices
Kolomitro, Klodiana
Journal of Faculty Development, v30 n3 p15-20 Fall 2016
The role of educational developers has transitioned from the periphery to the centre of the higher education landscape as these practitioners are working to build capacity in teaching and learning. Yet, little is understood about educational developers themselves, and in particular, how learning theories inform their practice. In a qualitative study, eleven Canadian university educational developers highlighted aspects of their conceptions and uses of learning theories. This paper offers further discussion and elaboration on those conceptions and explores factors that impact developers' use of learning theories.
