Higher Education Review, v47 n1 p77-92 Aut 2014
The transnational classroom can be complex and particularly challenging for both lecturers and students. The aim of this study was to provide insights into transnational student perceptions of the quality of pedagogical engagement and preferred teaching and learning modes. Interviews were conducted with nineteen students enrolled on one postgraduate programme in Singapore. The findings revealed those teaching and learning modes considered effective and ineffective by students; the barriers and enablers to students' learning were also identified. Finally, it was established that transnational education was perceived to be valuable in relation to the career and future employment of students.
