The Views and Opinions of School Principals and Teachers on Positive Education

The purpose of this study is to assess the views and opinions of school principals and teachers on positive education. The sample of the study includes 8 school principals and 12 teachers who attend different public schools in Izmir, Turkey. Data is collected through semi-structured interview technique. Findings show that majority of the participants have no knowledge about positive education and positive psychology. Participants state that schools can increase students' well-being, and both academic and well-being skills can be taught at schools. Finally, majority of the participants report that positive education is necessary for Turkish schools.
