Publishing Collaborative Research: Counsel and Caveats

As a consequence of engaging almost exclusively in collaborative research throughout my career, my publications are rarely single authored. The goals of this article are to share with readers my experiences related to publishing in general and to collaborative writing specifically, and to provide counsel and caveats based on these experiences. The article covers topics relevant to approaching the task of writing such as deciding what to write and selecting a publication outlet. The process of writing and critically evaluating your writing is also discussed. The article also discusses the benefits, challenges, and consideration when engaging in collaborative writing. Finally, lessons learned from my own scholar writing experiences are shared.
