Forced Identity and Maneuvering the Confinements in U.S. Higher Education Institutions
Hyun, Eunsook
Multicultural Learning and Teaching, v7 n1 Apr 2012
This article represents the author's autobiographical reflection related to her journey as a diverse faculty member and now administrator in higher education. In the context of U.S. higher education, the "minority" label is a troubling issue that has perpetuated both implicit and explicit confinements. The author tells how she has negotiated within herself to navigate an imposed identity.
