Preparations for the New: Reaching and Teaching Creativity with Adaptive Technologies
Jaeger, Garrett J.
Educational Technology, v56 n6 p24-31 Nov-Dec 2016
Educators are obliged to balance new resources with a healthy skepticism of change. This review of technological advances in creativity research highlights methods that scaffold both research and the students who stand to benefit from resultant findings. Educational technology need not lower its role to that of enabler. With proper guidance, however, technology is being leveraged to capture new observations of creativity using modern computing capabilities. From changes in sampling, to expanded experimental capacities, the author's view of creativity is not just about evaluating products and outcomes, but methodological adaptions that reveal details of the process as well.
