The purpose of this research is to analyze the speech intonation of the French, Kazakh, English and Russian languages. The study considers intonation component functions (of melodics, duration, and intensity) in poetry and language spoken. It is defined that a set of prosodic means are used in order to convey the intonational specifics of sounding speech, the relevant intonational components in combination of utterances. Universal properties of intonation components, linguistic meanings as well as their role in the presentation of sounding speech are identified. The results of the research are based on the experimental data, and on the generalization of general provisions of the theory of intonation in the light of the current trends of general linguistics.
