What's Reading Got to Do with It
Bradley, Maria
Reading Improvement, v53 n3 p107-113 Fall 2016
Have you ever felt like there are days where you are not sure if anything you taught went into any of your student's heads? With the amount of research that is being done across the world on reading, it is time to analyze what strategies would benefit my students the most and help them grow as readers. Reading is a key foundational skill not only for school but for life. There are too many students who are being identified as struggling readers. It is our job as educators to ensure we are meeting the needs of our students. We cannot simply teach the way we were taught. Our students are different, and they learn differently. It is time we apply differentiated strategies to meet the needs of our students.
