Social studies teachers can certainly teach about elections at any time, but in light of the importance of a presidential election, this once-every-four-year civic extravaganza should not be missed! With the election of 2016 coming in the fall, it provides rich opportunities for discussions, classroom lessons, and community service opportunities for students and teachers alike.
