A data processing instructional program should provide students with career awareness, exploration, and orientation. This can be accomplished by establishing three objectives: (1) familiarization with automation terminology; (2) understanding the influence of the cultural and social impact of computers and automation; and (3) the kinds of job openings and qualifications needed.
