The Role of Social Work in Black Liberation
Gilbert, Gwendolyn C.
Black Scholar, 6, 4, 16-23, Dec 74
In contrast to traditional concepts, a new model for social work practice in the black community is presented which proceeds from an expanded definition of the goals of the profession and in which neo-colonialism, survival, and liberation are the principal conceptual components. Implications for social work practice and education are also discussed. (EH)
