How to Determine if the Focus on Media Is Misplaced: (1) "Development" Functions Best When Media Selection Is Subordinate to It and (2) "Media Selection" Functions Best When It Is Subordinate to Development
Gropper, George L.
Educational Technology, v56 n2 p3-16 Mar-Apr 2016
In instruction there is always something that needs to be displayed. Little wonder that in some form or other media utilization is a given. But questions arise. "Is development meant to fit within media capabilities?" "Or are media to be selected because of their capabilities to meet development needs?" When in the instructional development process media selection occurs determines which position is given priority. Whether the focus on media is properly placed or misplaced is a function of which receives priority.
