Ponderings of an Occupational Therapy Administrator: Beyond Handwriting--Are We Ready?
Polichino, Jean E.
Journal of Occupational Therapy, Schools & Early Intervention, v9 n1 p2-5 2016
Handwriting has historically played a significant role in the services provided by occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants working in schools. Reflecting on nearly three decades of school practice, an occupational therapy administrator considers how this niche developed and how it positions occupational therapy practitioners to support the increasing prominence of literacy initiatives across the country. Current literacy activities of school-based practitioners in a large metropolitan area are shared.
