Two-Year Community: Undergraduate Research at a Two-Year College--A Team Approach
Langley, William
Journal of College Science Teaching, v45 n2 Nov 2015
An individual faculty can mentor students doing undergraduate research. Such an endeavor represents a substantial commitment of time and effort on the part of the faculty who would like to mentor a substantial number of students, want to use time and materials as efficiently as possible, and want the students and the program to receive recognition. The following describes a team approach that achieves these goals. The author recruited students from his majors biology course to join a team that was researching a complex and interesting problem and that enabled individual students to pursue a particular aspect of the general problem as a research project.
