Collegiate Diversity Experiences and Students' Views Regarding Social and Political Involvement
Parker, Eugene T., III; Trolian, Teniell L.
Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, v52 n4 p387-400 2015
Using data from the Wabash National Study of Liberal Arts Education, this study examines the relationship between engagement in diversity experiences during college and student attitudes about the importance of being socially and politically involved at the end of their fourth year of college. Findings suggest a positive link between course-related diversity experiences, meaningful discussions with diverse peers, and other types of diversity experiences and the importance students' assign to being politically and socially involved.
