The Preparation of Practitioner Educational Psychologists in England

Demographic characteristics of professional preparation programs for practitioner educational psychologists in England together with significant recent national and social influences upon this activity are discussed. The paper then provides an original case illustration of the orientation and structure of the preparation program at the University of Manchester, together with a critical consideration of current opportunities and challenges for professional training arising from national and international contexts.
