Rubin, Marc
New England Journal of Higher Education, Dec 2015
Using the data published by "Boston" magazine and the New England Board of Higher Education's "2016 Guide to New England Colleges & Universities," Marc Rubin examined higher education institutions (HEIs) prices, defined as tuition and plus fees, as a function of several independent factors including: (1) Percentage of applicants accepted; (2) Percentage of accepted students who indeed enrolled; (3) Percentage of freshmen who were in the top 25% of their high-school class; (4) Student-to-faculty ratio; (5) Undergraduate enrollment; and (6) University versus college. In this brief article he highlights the findings of his analysis on private (or independent) HEIs in the "Guide."
