Teacher Education Preparation Program for the 21st Century. Which Way Forward for Kenya?

Teacher quality is always cited as the most significant efficiency of teacher preparation programs. This paper discusses the aspects of Teacher education factor that influences student achievement. There has always been an increased interest in examining the preparation program for the 21st century in Kenya and recommending the way forward for our teacher education preparation program in the primary teachers colleges. This paper gives the background of the teacher preparation program in Kenya and how we need to prepare teachers for the 21st century. The paper will also focus on whether the practising teachers are empowered to deal with the learner and practising teachers in schools.
