Challenging the dichotomy between theory and practice in education, the author advocates a middle ground that could motivate more practicing teachers to pursue the studies necessary to become "hybrid" educators. These teacher educators would be masters of both research and practice, bringing both into teacher preparation programs in a practical, useful way.
