Multiple Consultee Consultation to Modify Behaviors in a Student with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Reynolds, Jennifer L.; Fisher, Sycarah D.
Contemporary School Psychology, v19 n3 p128-135 Sep 2015
Consultation is used to provide indirect services to students. The process typically occurs with a school psychologist consultant and a teacher consultee. Few cases exist demonstrating consultation with nontraditional or multiple consultees. The current study showed the use of consultation with multiple interdisciplinary consultees to implement two tier 3 behavior interventions with a student with high functioning autism spectrum disorder. Two consultees implemented an intervention targeting appropriate hand raising, and five consultees implemented an intervention targeting inappropriate nose cleaning. Both interventions appeared successful via visual analysis and percent of nonoverlapping data. Implications for practice, limitations, and future research are discussed.
