Leadership Challenges at Public and Independent Schools
Torres, Amanda
Independent School, v73 n1 Fall 2013
A recent survey by MetLife explores the opinions and experiences of principals and teachers at K-12 public schools regarding their responsibilities and challenges as leaders, the changing role of principals, faculty satisfaction, and Common Core Standards implementation. The findings of this study present independent schools with an opportunity to establish some parallels and contrasts with the results of previous National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) studies on independent schools that are similar to the leadership aspects analyzed by MetLife. This article briefly describes the findings of the MetLife survey in comparison with previous NAIS studies.
